An effective handover matters

default-16x9

Time for me to say hello to everyone. Hello. I'll be covering for Jon while he travels the world. As Jon mentioned in his recent post, we have been working together for a few days to enable me to get up to speed with how the site works and to find out how things are done around here.

I am fortuntate to have had some of Jon's time as handovers aren't always like this. And he has been very generous with his time, which is not always so easy. The person who is doing the handover usually has a heap of other things to get done before they leave, as well as the usual daily tasks. Doing a handover takes time and good organisation.

So, I have been shown how the various systems work, have received some documentation to support this, had the time to make notes and, most importantly, been able to actually do some of the job with Jon on hand to help me when I have needed it.

We shall see on Tuesday (when I am on my own) how well I have soaked up all the learning.

I'll be at TrainingZone Live on Monday, so look forward to seeing some of you there.
