Business game

default-16x9

Hi all

One of our clients is a marketing agency and they have some issues with their designers who have highly developed artistic integrity but underdeveloped commercial awareness. As part of the solution we would like to run a 'business game' with them to get them thinking more commercially. Does anyone have anything or know of anything like that?

Thanks in advance

Sue

  1. have you tried…
we have designed several of these (computer-based business simulations) for clients, however they have always always been desinged as a completely bespoke solution to their individual needs. They are always very popular and effective, but if you are looking for an off-the-shelf solution have you tried http://www.pixel.co.uk?

  2. Northgate business simulation
Hi Sue. I have used a Northgate simulation for technical staff with limited commercial awareness, and it was hugely successful. The one I used was Wine Bar, where they set up and run their own wine bar from scratch – includes decisions on divesification, client base, location and pricing etc. Feed decisions into laptop and prints out summary including very basic Profit and Loss.

    They have others available too.

Happy to talk in more detail if you want. good luck!

Set up a competition with an unbiased judge to mark against a set criteria (e.g.clarity, visual impact etc.). Put your group into small teams and give them 5/10 minutes to chart their strengths onto a large sheet of paper. Now they have to come up with an advert for a paper, radio commercial or other media to promote and sell their product. Judge it and then get the group to reflect on how they may improve on what they produced. This can be an ongoing activity. Hope this helps.
