Business simulation

default-16x9

The context of the inquiry is I have been asked to source a business simulation for one day event. The participants are 80 senior managers from a chemical manufacturing company. The simulation must be demanding/challenging and have identifiable learning outcomes. The participants will be debriefed by facilitators. We have about four weeks to aquire the simulation and set up the event. Any ideas gratefully received.

  1. Simulation for what business need?
    Hi Stuart,

This is a very open question.

Some factors that would need to be known to narrow the scope are:
    1) What is the learning area that you want to the group to focus on?

    2) How much time in the day can be devoted to the simulator?

    3) Is there a preference for PC or non PC based simulations?

4)Are you thinking of buying or bringing in the team to run the simulator?

Perhaps with these answered the forums members may be able to give you a more focused answer.

    Best regards, Andi

Hi Stuart – Try Trainers Library I think you will find different types there – both PC based and trainer facilitated. Good Luck.

  3. As a simulation designer
    Hi Stuart
Please give me a call at Unique Solutions. Our business is designing business simulations for training. I would be delighted to bounce ideas around even if it does not lead to any work for us. 01629 691691 http://uniquesolutions.co.uk

  4. Business Simulations off-the-shelf
    Hi
In direct response to your query, I have a simulation called Executive Challenge that I originally designed for Ciba-Geigy information and a downloadable evaluation edition from http://www.simulations.co.uk/execeval.htm With 80 people you will need to divide the group into three groups of teams of five people.

My page http://www.simulations.co.uk/USING07.HTM has some information about the issues associated with using the simulation in this way. But it would be useful to phone me on 020 7537 2982 (I am out today (2/3/2009) but in for the rest of the week after about 10:00 am.

  5. Consider SimVenture
    Hi Stuart

Whilst not wanting to put the cart before the horse, have a look at SimVenture as a possible business simulation solution – a free demo is available from the website http://www.simventure.co.uk

SimVenture won a couple of national awards last year including Serious Game Solution of the year and matches everything you say you want to do. Corporate clients such as Asda have been very happy with the type of event you are seeking.
