CIPD Certificate in Training Practice – which supplier?

default-16x9

Can anyone recommend a good supplier of the CIPD Certificate in Training Practice?

There is a wide price range between suppliers offering the CIPD CITP course. E.g. CIPD itself £6,995 plus VAt for 18 days contact time V. Malpas £1,575 plus VAT for 10 days contact time.

Quality is a key criteria for me but I do not want to waste cash!

  1. CTP
    Hi

Heather my partner did her CTP at Woodland Grange with Gary Platt. Can’t remember the price (which was a consideration) but she was able to keep the cost down by sourcing her own accomodation (sorry WG). She still refers to GP’s stuff, which is voluminous.

    Hope this is of use.

    Peter.

  2. Local Colleges
    Hi,

Have you tried to contact local colleges? I completed my CITP at a local college on a part time evening basis. It was less than £1000 and took 2 nights a week for an academic year. Might not be suitable if you want to complete quickly but fits well with full time working life.

  3. Supplier
The range of prices and options are enormous. For a premier league supplier go for CIPD or CMPS, for distance learning (not my recommended option for a Certificate in what is after all ‘Training Practice’) go for MOL or MALPAS. And for a cheap option try a local college – quality is very variable so only choose this option if you have a respected colleague who can personally recommend it.
    Good luck!

  4. CTP via flexible learning option with Malpas (£1600, 7 months)
I studied for the CTP last year through Malpas via their flexible learning option. You meet with your group on two occasions for 5 days each. In between times you work on three projects (which have to be based on real life situations at your workplace). There are two additional projects, which require working with one or more of your classmates. You are assessed on your projects and there aren’t exams. If you have questions you can call your tutor and he/she or another tutor gets back to you within 24-48 hours. It costed around £1600 and took 7 months to complete. I found it very good.

  5. Which CIPD CTP programme

    Hi

Earlier this year I was asked by a client (a national organisation)  to explore the options available for a CTP course for their staff. I have summarised these results:

While the prices were correct at the time of publication, they should be checked as they may well have changed. I hope this provides a useful summary.
