companies marketing trainers/courses

default-16x9

Is there anyone in the community who either actively markets niche trainers and/or specific workshops?

Marketing a course can be a full-time job in itself and I wondered if there was someone in the community who catered for just that side of things....

To clarify, how many of us specialise (as I do) and may gain from working with a generalised agency... if such exists?

  1. Niche Markets
We work with lawyers, solicitors, engineers and medico legals in niche, CPD and technical training. What niche industry / topics do you specialise in?

Good morning Francis – I have checked your profile and my specialism is in creative thinking based around pragmatic metaphysics, or spiritual intelligence, (hence an earlier post) – rather than sector or vertical market (although I have done some work with quality managers).

The ‘pragmatism’ is reflected in a desire to ease the process and get on with the ‘bliss’ things!

I feel there could be many ‘sole traders’ in the community with a niche workshop which could be packaged with other non-competitive courses.

It would have several advantages including making life easier for buyers to forward plan as well as providing the ‘agent’ with a range for both opening doors and added-value sales.

As a past sales prof, picking up the phone is not an issue.

Referrals aside, the buyer though frequently has a difficult task in selecting either workshops or trainers.

Trainers (or consultants) have to raise their profile through articles, speaking engagements, writing books, etc etc and that can all take time (and often money).

Working with others (what I call a virtual team) could benefit all parties, provided of course certain conditions are met.

  3. A little confused…
…that on my screen both the original question and the first answer are shown as being by Euphrosene. A glitch in the system?

For less than active marketing there are websites such as trainerbase.co.uk and trainingpages which allow us to register programmes and open courses.

From comments so far it sounds like people have a shared vision for some kind of joint venture combining a website and (a) marketing employee(s) to promote (non-competing – what does that mean in this industry?) trainers’ services.

It’s just a case of finding someone who wants to share with you and this might be the ideal place to do that…

The sequence of comments seems to be last one first..

Most training sites tend to be reactive – just providing listings in the hope that the target market will find you.

In an ideal world there should be more proactivity or perhaps that’s the sales prof in me talking.

Yes I am hoping to find those in the community with shared values and complementary ‘products’.
