Consignia project wins Personnel Today award

Consignia’s approach to e-learning, which includes using the skills of TATA Interactive Systems (TIS) and Futuremedia Plc, has won the Personnel Today e-learning award. The award was presented to Consignia for creating an online training environment in all 31 business units, including developing custom built e-learning content, even though it had no infrastructure to do so one year ago.
Consignia’s solution was to implement Futuremedia’s hosted learning management system, Solstra, to deliver courses to learners via the internet. TIS develops and produces the service’s custom-built e-learning content. Consignia’s e-learning managed services department operates by working together with its service partners; internally, with the company’s IT service, business systems, and externally with TIS and Futuremedia.

“Receiving this recognition for our work is a tremendous boost and a clear indication of how well the partnership has worked together.” comments Nigel Marsh, e-learning management services manager.

E-learning has blended with traditional training methods to reach the organisation’s personnel, increasing the volume of training it can deliver and reducing the time it takes to deliver learning programmes. Previously, the logistics of time, cost, geography and sheer employee numbers have limited the level and speed of delivery of training to its employees. Ultimately, the goal is for all of Consignia’s 200,000 staff to have access to e-learning materials.
