Diagnostic tool

default-16x9

 Hi All,

Can anyone recommend a good diagnostic tool for assessing ones flexibility, approach to, and effectiveness in managing change?

Am aware of and am well read in various theories i.e.  "Who moved my cheese?" Spencer / Kotter / Lewin / et al.

Just looking for a self assessment / diagnostic questionnaire / tool to utilise.

Look forward to hearing recommendations.

Regards

Lee

  1. Diagnostic Tool for Change and Innovation

    Hi Lea,

A while ago I sourced and used the Innovation Potential Indicator (IPI) by Professor Fiona Patterson as part of a Development Centre that I was running.  This short questionnaire covers the key behaviours associated with change and innovation. Key dimensons are Motivation to Change; Challenging Behaviours; Adaptation; Consistency of Work Style; and Social Desirability. It is research based and validated and it can be completed in about 15 minutes.  The tool can be accessed via OPP at http://www.opp.eu.com and then search for the IPI. I hope that this helps?

  2. a potential word of caution…

    Dear Lee

You haven’t shared your reasons for wanting this tool so this warning may be unnecessary but….

I came across an organisation who used such a tool a couple of years ago as part of the selection process to indentify people to be "offered" redundancy…..they ended up with 17 ETs against them for discrimination!

Hopefully this little tale is irrelevant

    Good Luck

  3. Diagnostics

Thanks All for the recommendations…I’ll look into them each in turn.

Rus, your fears are unnecessary…a) as its to be used as part of a development programme…and b) i’m (unfortunately?!) worldly wise enough and too familiar with redundancy profiling processes to fall foul of any ET’s! but thanks for the consideration..a good point that others may benefit from!

    Thanks again all.

  4. Peter Honey’s 21 questionnaires

There are two questionnaires specifically on Managing Change within the above, together with trainer guides and suggestions for action having completed the questionnaire.
