e-learning content design

default-16x9

Our company has a number of inhouse databases/programmes which many members of staff need to have a basic understanding of to be able to do their jobs. Currently they attend half-day or one one day training courses but I am looking at ways this training could be delivered electronically.
The company does not currently have an e-learning strategy although it is something on the backburner for possible implementation in 2002/3.
In the meantime I am looking for a quick way to produce this particular training. I am looking for fairly straightforward package that an IT literate person could use after some brief training. I am not looking to outsource the content design.
The company has an intranet although I would also envisage putting the training material onto CD-ROM as well.
Any advice, suggestions, tips more than welcome!

  1. Simple software
Check out Trainersoft products (there’s a thread on this subject in this forum). Quick, easy and creates HTML for inclusion on Web or CD.

For simultaneous paper-based & electronic content authoring check out http://www.myrnham.co.uk

  2. e-learning content design solution
We have been involved in developing custom cbt for some time, and have found two solutions very useful. Both are from Macromedia, and are sophisticated enough to take you from simple cbt production through to more complex interactive courses with the ability to store feedback, again, as simple or as complex a manor as you wish.

The first, and possibly most simple, is Macromedia Authorware 6. This is a new release rom Macromedia and guides you through development of learning pages and interactive content using a wizard.

Secondly, and perhaps more for those who wish to have more control over content and the ability to use more than one designer, is Macromedia Course Builder for Dreamweaver. Again this is easy to use, and provides a helpful interface for you to design interactive content.
