Emotional Intelligence – Classroom Activities & Self Assessment

default-16x9

Hi,
I'm designing and delivering a course for an insurance company with the theme of Emotional Intelligence. Their learning outcomes are to enhance teamwork and understanding (of different types of behaviour etc) within the organisation. The training will be rolled out across the organisation - which is an Insurance Company.

I'm looking for classroom exercises to practice and get feedback on emotional intelligence, and, if possible, specifically the "5 steps", but more generally to demonstrate the principles behind EI and for participants to get an idea of their current level of EI...

Also if anyone knows of an assessment for EI, please let me know.

Thanks a million!

Anisha.

  1. EI questionnaire
    Hello Anisha

There is a very good questionnaire called the Boston EI questionnaire which delegates can complete to measure their own EI levels. It is congruent with the 5-step model and you can then lead onto delegates instigating their own action plan to further develop their EI in the areas they need to strengthen. I’ve found this approach works very well in a workshop environment.

There is a copy in the Management Pocketbook on Emotional Intelligence.

    Good luck with it!
