Sussex firm ISG Jackson has announced the creation of a new in-house training and development academy to reinforce its commitment to recruiting, training and retaining the most talented individuals within the construction industry.

The launch of ISG Jackson Academy brings together the company's existing training and development programmes into a formal business strategy and promises to provide a structured training and development path for individuals at every level within the business.

The company, which has a £95m annual turnover, is funding an annual training budget of around £1,000 per employee, a 70-seat lecture theatre and a purpose built IT training room.

It encourages staff to join professional bodies and has built alliances with these bodies along with educational institutions.

Guy Fairweather, Quality & Environment Manager, who heads up ISG Jackson Academy said: “Recognition that appropriate and structured training not only enhances our service offering for clients but also engenders a real sense of loyalty from our staff has underlined the tangible benefit of our investment to date. The move to create the ISG Jackson Academy takes this philosophy one stage further and presents individuals with an opportunity to excel professionally and build a highly successful and mutually beneficial career within ISG Jackson.”
