learner support for online students – good/bad practice, any practice

default-16x9

At our FE College we are currently developing web-based education and training courses. In support of this effort, I've been asked to provide research into online learner support practices, e.g. do's and don'ts, the changing roles and skills of online tutors. Can you point me to useful case studies, reports etc. on the web?

Many thanks, Brian.

  1. Tutor Support Online Learning – Literature Search
The DFEE Commissioned a recent guide via UfI on “Tutor Support in On LIne learning:A Report on a Literature Search”. Supposedly available via the Lifelong Learning & Technologies Division Sheffield. Request for publications Tel 0845 60 222 60. I picked it up free at the e-learning exhibition last week. Will be handed out at an event organised by Technologies for Training http://www.tft.co.uk. Good Luck.
