MBTI and DISC Certification

default-16x9

I would like to know the differences between MBTI and DISC profiling tools. How would that apply to learning and development? Which one is a better choice ( in terms of application) for getting certified? Appreciate if anyone who's certified in either one to share your thoughts.

Many thanks and kindest regards,
Alice Ma

One Response

  1. MBTI
I am qualified in MBTI and also in the Management Team Roles Indicator (MTRi) which I find a useful follow-on, similar to Belbin. I have found MBTI useful in team development, especially in identifying the strengths and potential weaknesses in teams and also in appreciation of diversity. I can’t comment on DISC. I find the risk with MBTI is that people can feel pigeon-holed rather than see their preferences as a dynamic process and challenged to develop their weaker preferences.
    Hope that helps.
