default-16x9

Can anyone help with advice/experience of the pros and conts of setting up an intranet primarily for HR purposes on a very limited budget?

All contributions will be gratefully received!

Could you not use your IT Manager to build a system or send them on a training course so that they know how to do it. You could use a consultant but the former should be cheaper. There are courses advertised on Training Pages for intranet building courses.

  2. Microsoft Team Services
Microsoft has a fantastic portal/intranet solution that comes with FrontPage called, Team Services. Setup is fast and easy, it is very user friendly and highly customisable.

  3. Microsoft Small Business Server
Assuming that if a company has an HR intranet requirement, there will be a number of PCs on the network. In which case Microsoft also offer the Small Business Server which incorporates an intranet as part of its server/client network setup. We use it – and the Intranet is easy to set up and to contribute to, with the facility of shared document areas and communication services. Ideal for a growing business.

  4. HR Intranet

The Claromentis intranet solution contains many HR tools, such as, Holiday Planner and a Learning Management System – it's affordable for small businesses too.
