Our Team Manager development is currently very adhoc. My intention is to research and produce a foundation programme for newly appointed Team Manager (internal / external appointments). This is likely to include HR related topics, L&G policy/practice and soft skills. Any help greatly appreciated.

I’d echo Barrie’s comments – the IoM route would provide a qualification that is national.
I’d also support Gary’s approach, which (if I read it right) suggests that along side the competency framework is some practical, possibly experiential, exercises and activities to drive the learning home and tie it in to the workplace.
I too have some experience with this in a number of organisations and am more than happy to talk through my experiences. I lecture on IoM programmes as well as running experiential stuff, so have a genuine perspective from both sides of the fence.
