Training When There is a Hardware Delay

default-16x9

Does anyone have suggestions for improving the retention of training when the existing classes for new hardware and software cannot be changed, but the hardware delivery will be delayed 6 months? Yes, this is happening to me. Help!

    Scott,
I have a suggestion for you. Why not spend the time between now and when the hardware is delivered in getting the classes to work on designing their own processes for using the hardware, given what they have learned. To do this, I would suggest getting them together for a half day per week, and either supplying them with a charting utility such as Visio or SmartDraw, or indeed giving them a simple example process chart to use with pencil and paper.

By the time the hardware gets delivered, they will have thought through the implementation of what you have taught them in detail, and be well prepared to get into action.

    Best Regards

    Robin
