“Whacky Flips!”

I am looking for something simple such as cartoon images etc (I am not an arty person)that could be visually stimulating

  1. The old ones are sometimes best!!
Why not try your hand at the “old” favourite….using cartoon images from clipart packages transferred to flip via an OHP and traced – it worked very well for me, and is a cheap way of producing interesting cartoons, without the need to spend loads of cash on pre-produced materials. It is also useful, if like me you are not “arty”.

  2. Beyond Words
I recommend “Beyond Words – A guide to drawing out ideas” by Milly R. Sonneman (ISBN 0-89815-911-3). Published by Ten Speed Press. I bought it a few months ago from Can’t remember the price offhand, but I’m sure it wasn’t expensive ($14.95 cover price). It needs lots of practice, but really does work!
