I am hoping that someone may have an exercise similar to that which I carelesssly left behind in my previous role.
The exercise was used in a performance management session and was really great! It started with a problem statement and gave four options as a remedy to the problem e.g
John has arrived late to work everyday for the last 5 days, ranging from 5 minutes late to 20 minutes late, You have only just become John line Manager, and he is well liked, how do you proceed.....
a. Call John into your office for a formal chat (turn to page 35)
b. Consult HR (turn to page 20)
c. Call John into your office for an informal chat (turn to page 31)
d. Speak to John at his desk (turn to page 23)
Participants should then turn to the relevant page based on their decision, and the problem then continues, directing them to 4 more options,and more pages. This is great on so many levels as some people will keep making the same decision, and they eventually find that they are literally going around in circles!
I would love to find this exercise again, so if anyone could help, I would be most grateful!
